Donegal Golf Club’s links at Murvagh opened in 1973, designed by Eddie Hackett, who modelled its two distinct nine-hole loops on Muirfield in Scotland – earning the course its nickname “the Muirfield of Ireland.” Pat Ruddy lengthened and refined the layout in the 1990s and again in 2017.
Solidly ranked in the Top 100 Irish golf courses, I have fond memories of my round on the Donegal Golf Course. Those who find themselves in the beautiful landscape of the north of the Republic of Ireland will have a lot of fun on this course. It might be a bit windy, though. Very windy, in fact.
